Welcome to DANPA
DANPA is the Danish national database of private archives kept in various archival institutions such as Local and City archives, the Danish National Archives, The Royal Library, The Danish Emigration Archives, The Library and Archives of the Labour Movement (ABA), The Danish National Museum etc., all containing information about archives of private provenance, e.g. from persons, societies, organizations, institutions, businesses, shops etc.
In the database you will find archival finding aids, photographs, recorded sound, film, maps, plans, drawings, printed material and newspaper cuttings.
In the search bar to the left you may search either with text, structured through subject/geographical area/institution, within a limited timeframe or through any combination of them all.
All material in the database is in Danish, so you will have to use Danish terms and words in order to use the search facility, just as all hits will be in Danish.
